CLUBS AND ATHLETICS BODIES
The most complete list of clubs is still the
BAF Clubs Directory. Despite its appearance, this site is still updated with results and clubs.

Other bodies include (in no particular order):
England Athletics, Welsh Athletics, the English Schools,
the Midland Counties, and the Gwent League.
The British Athletics Supporters Club provides some
perks for members, currently costing £10 per annum.
There is a very useful UK Running Track Directory, which gives details of all running tracks in the UK, and also includes a clubs list. Tim Grose has cleverly linked it to Multi Media Mapping who do street maps for the whole of the UK. He writes: "To make use of this facility click on the map image on any track page on the UK Running Track Directory so that a window appears with the URL something like ...uk.multimap.com/p/... If you change /p/ to /map/ it should show you a street map of the location you have just been looking at. If I <Tim Grose> know the grid reference of the track the resulting circle should be right over the track, otherwise it will be a close approximation."

COACHING AND SUPPORT
Athletics Coaches' Association of the UK (ACAUK) is a new organization run by coaches for coaches. Set up by Mike Winch and four of the UKs top coaches at the start of 2003, it takes athletics well beyond the rather patchy offerings of UK Athletics, listing courses and link into many other useful sites.
Sports Coach is one of many sites linked into by ACAUK. Run by Brian MacKenzie, this site forms a repository for Brian's considerable coaching experience, which is probably why the site has had nearly a million hits over the last 6 years.
The above should not be confused with the Sports Coach UK site (this used to be called the National Coaching Foundation, or NCF). This organizes coaches education for a large number of sports, concentrating on modules of shared interest, such as nutrition, mobility, endurance, strength, etc. Even if you are progressing through the athletics coaching structure, you may find some of the SCUK courses are of particular interest. Their trading arm is 1st4sport where you will find books on coaching, etc.
