The Welsh Castles Relay 2007 (9th-10th June 2007)

... Continued from The Welsh Castles Relay (page 1)

As the road opens out half-way up to the Drovers Arms, you can see what happens when 'the circus' reaches town

As before, we raced on to an overnight stopover in Crossgates, where Richard was taking 'carbo-loading' far too seriously.

Julian Bailey Gard (Jnr) bravely volunteered for the 7am start on the second day, up before the press, but here he is in serious preparation for the run (Newtown to Llanbadarn Fynydd, 1:24:09)

Sorry no photo was available for Keith Hill (leg 12 from Llanbadarn Fynydd to Crossgates, 1:15:23)

Tony Jefferies was us through leg 13 from Crossgates to Builth Wells (1:08:44)

John Collier was determined not to blow up on the toughest stage of the weekend (Builth Wells to Drovers Arms, 1:20:23), but was certainly blowing pretty hard by the end. Photo on right courtesy of Jane Thornton

At 60, Colin Marrs may not be quite as springy as he used to be, but he can still make the ladies go weak at the knees (Drovers Arms to Brecon, 1:43:46).  Photos courtesy of Jane Thornton

Leg 16 from Brecon to Beacons Reservoir can be one of the hottest of the weekend, but Julian Bailey Gard (Snr) made light of the run (1:07:24).

Linda O'Shaughnessy had the downhill leg 17 from Beacons Reservoir to Cyfarthfa Castle (1:08:35).  Photo courtesy of Jane Thornton

Marilyn Palmer ran leg 18 from Rhyd-y-Car Centre to Abercynon (1:18:20).  Photo courtesy of Jane Thornton

Sorry, no photo available of Mike Clark on leg 19 (Abercynon to Caerphilly Castle, 1:18:43)

Here is the start of leg 20

Andy Gordon was glad of the shower on leg 20 (Caerphilly Castle to Cardiff Castle, 1:26:21)
