The Welsh Castles Relays 2005 - Day 2

Just as last year, your cameraman did not manage to make the 7am Leg 11 start (12.3 miles to Llanbadarn Fynydd), but did manage to capture here Clive Attwood's dedication to the cause, preparing for the event the night before.

Dean Thornton then carried us on the 11.2 miles to Crossgates, thoughtfully supplied with Alka Seltzer by our team manager along the way.
Mike Clark ran the 10.6 miles to Builth Wells (we're not quite sure who or what tickled his fancy at the far end)

Throughout all this action, Team Manager Rod Jones was keeping the show on the road with his usual good humour.

Simon Everington tackled the huge 11 mile climb up to the Drovers Arms on leg 14, handing over to Richard Adams on the 12.4 mile leg into Brecon.

By now many of the participants had done their bit, and could relax and watch the world go by.

Trish Robson made the 9 mile leg up to the Beacons Reservoir look easy, while Declan McManus was another to beat the camera, on his 9.2 miles to Cyfarthfa Castle.

Emma Gordon picked the glamour leg, finishing her 9.1 miles leg in the Abercynon recycling Centre
The crowds came out for Dave Perkins 10.4 mile leg into Caerphilly Castle (unfortunately, they were misdirected to the wrong spot), and Matt Lavis had the 10.4 mile glory leg into Cardiff Castle.

Many thanks are due to Pat Jefferies who kept us all fed and nourished, and Jay Waller who navigated us around darkest Wales without once getting lost.
