National Cross-Country Championships, Cofton Park (19/2/05)
Most participants agreed that this was an excellent venue for this famous
event - superb for spectators, a decent course for the runners, and well
organised. The long, downhill start made spectacular viewing for
anyone not actually participating in the senior men's race. Not
captured here was the way that, while 40 minutes before the event there
seemed to be perhaps a dozen competitors warming up, with 5 minutes to
go runners were pouring out of nowhere and swarming all over the hill.
