Training Week in Devon, April 2006

Tom Watson often takes a group of athletes from various clubs for a training week down at Croyde over Easter.

On our second night there, the sun set into a hazy sky, giving these spectacular shots

Finding a firm flat track to run on is a real bonus

Above is the beach at Croyde, and below that of Saunton Sands.  Behind you can see the sand dunes of Braunton Burrows, just waiting to be run up

There is only one way to tackle dunes  like these - power all the way up.  You just have to be careful not to clout the guy behind!

Reaching the top comes as a great relief

Shoes are useless in the soft sand

The go-karting championship this year saw an epic battle between coach and athlete

Joe went out hard, but Tom Watson was never far behind

Damien and Ashley also provided entertainment for the spectators on the bends

In the end Joe's immaculate cornering won the day
