Viewing

This site is designed to be viewed by all newer versions of web browsers. However, older browsers which don't support frames may present some problems.  A minimum screen size of 800x600 is recommended.  Both Internet Explorer (which includes AOL browser) and Netscape Navigator should give equally good results (except that Internet Explorer can give poor picture quality - see below).

While all pages feature photographs of our club members, I have tried to keep their size below 30k as far as possible - so (hopefully) they shouldn't take too long to download.

If you have any problems in viewing this site, or opinions or feedback, do please E-mail me.

Updates

Unfortunately, since I am an active athlete myself, I don't have a lot of time to publish results here, or even maintain the site more than every month or so, but rest assured that I do check for email reasonably often!  I try do to keep the forthcoming fixtures list up-to-date, and correct any inaccuracies as soon as told about them.

Poor Pictures

If any pictures appear to be less than pin-sharp, then try the following:
Hold the pointer over the picture, and right-click on the mouse.  From the list which appears, click 'Save Picture As'.  The suggested 'Save As Type' ought to be JPEG (*.jpg).  If you get the option ART then you are looking at a poor rendition of the actual image.  You can obtain much better quality pictures as described below.

This problem is specific to Microsoft's Internet Explorer and the AOL browser (which is based on Internet Explorer). You will probably have had this problem with many of the web sites you visit.

To cure (or at least, reduce) the problem:
In  AOL browser, select 'My AOL' then 'Preferences' then 'WWW'.
Click the 'Web Graphics' tab, and turn 'Use Compressed Graphics' OFF.
Click the 'General' tab, and click 'Delete Files' in the 'Temporary Internet Files' panel.
Still on the 'General' tab, click 'Clear History' in the 'History' panel.
Click 'Ok', close the Preferences window.
In Internet Explorer, I have not been able to find the 'Use Compressed Graphics' option in my version.  However, try selecting 'View' | 'Internet Options' and then following the above instructions.

You should now find that images now appear to be of much better quality (use the 'Save As' test above to check that they are now being correctly loaded as JPEG).
